Why can't I see Sky through my Media Centre PC?
Posted by Mitch on January 9th, 2006

I have been able to pick up Freeview Channels on my PC through a normal ariel
connection. Each ariel connection in my house delivers Sky from the one Sky
Box (same channel in every room). The TVs have been tuned to pick up the
signal. How do I tune my PC to do the same thing? (The sky box and PC are to
far away from each other to connect directly).

Any help appreciated.

If your TV tuner picks up the DVB-T (Freeview) channels then it is a digital
tuner. The Sky box will be transmitting analogue RF on channel 68 (default can
be changed).so you cannot do what you want.

I have read on the MS website, that for Sky you need to connect the Sky RF
output (coax) to something called TV in in the PC. The connection will be via
a coaxial cable.
Not sure if it works, as I am still designing my system to allow that (and
more)
