xbox 360 universal remote

Does the xbox 360 universal remote work with the Microsoft OEM Media Center
Reciever on a Windows MCE 2005 PC?

If so, how do you go about configuring it to do so?

On the xbox 360 website, under accesories, then universal remote it says
"...plus control your TV and your Media Center PC with one controller"

So far this claim seems to me to be complete rubbish. My Microsoft OEM
Media Center Reciever indicates that it is getting the IR from my 360 media
remote, as there is a little light that glows on the ir receiver when i press
a 360 remote button...the computer, however does not react to the message
being sent.

Am i missing an update or something on my laptop? Any 360 and MCE 2005
people outhere to test to see what there one does?

Did you set MCE to accept "All Remote IDs" using something like TweakMCE?

Note that we definitely prefer to use the "standard" MCE learning remote
with both MCE and the 360 rather than the other way around. It is much more
versatile and works better with the 360 as an eXtender than the 360 one
does - especially for controlling the volume if you are not using a "TV" for
the audio.

Thanks for this . . . i am not sure if i was being a newbie by asking this
question or not. It is fundementaly flawed though either way.

microsoft openly claim that the 360 remote is mce compatible, however, no
where does it state that you need to twear the IR receiver . . .

I did eventually find one of the old posts on this forum where a similar
thing was discussed.

MICROSOFT - can i make a plea as a techy who wants to embrase new and fun
technology that you make it easier to get answers for simple questions like -
"Does the xbox 360 remote work with MCE 2005?"
