Our Solaris 8 server have JNI fiber channel scsi/ip HBAs (2.6.13). Its
fiber direct connection to an EMC Clariion has been removed. However,
we are getting the following messages repeatedly in the /var/adm/
message file :

Apr 14 18:36:58 sous-marine fcaw: [ID 451854 kern.notice] fcaw0: Link

Does anyone have any idea how I can get rid of the messages ?

Thanks,

Bill

These are just notices, so they don't really matter.

But if you want to get rid of them, you can do a number of things:

1. make a loop of fiber cable from RX to TX port on the card. This will
give a link, so the card thinks that there's someone on the other end.

2. Remove the card

3. Depending on what hardware you're running on, you moght be able to
blacklist the card and disable it from the OS.
