and STELLAR BODY: BELLYDANCE WITH FIRE:
THE BEST OF BEAKMAN'S WORLD (reviewed by Aaron Bossig, overall
score 86/100):
"Beakman is the kind of show you want your kids to like. To kids, it's a
goofy show about cartoonish people who do fun things with ordinary
kitchen items. To parents, Beakman is a guy who shows kids that science
is a part of our everyday lives, shows that science affects everyone. "

BRAKHAGE (reviewed by Neil Dorsett, overall score 88/100):
"If you are a person who has some strict notion of what a film should
be, and enjoy slinging the word 'pretentious' or 'bad' at something that
fails to satisfy that prescriptive definition, or if you are the type
who likes to relegate all non-representational art to 'wonder what they
was smoking' dismissal, you need to stop reading this review and forget
the name Brakhage right now."

ELVIS: THE BIRTH OF ROCK N' ROLL (reviewed by Bill Treadway, overall
score 30/100):
"This documentary is the equivalent of PBS's Teletubbies or Boohbah: It
looks pretty, but there isn't any depth."

JOHNSON FAMILY VACATION (reviewed by Lacey Worrell, overall score
22/100):
"Watching this film reminded me of the emotions I felt during family car
trips when I was a kid; boredom, disdain, and frustration at the
realization that the conclusion is a long, long way away."

JOURNEYS WITH GEORGE (reviewed by Joel Pearce, overall score 73/100):
"The biggest problem with the film is its director. Pelosi has an
obnoxious, condescending narration style that bounces back and forth
between sickeningly light and mildly sarcastic. Her filming technique is
limited by the fact that she is traveling in a large group on bus and
train, but the footage often looks quite lousy (with heads being cut off
and such), and sounds even worse."

NBC NEWS PRESENTS: RONALD REAGAN (reviewed by Maurice Cobbs, overall
score 35/100):
"If NBC has done a good job of giving viewers a sense of Reagan the man,
it's done a simply awful job of presenting Reagan the anything else. "

PETTY CRIMES (reviewed by Rob Lineberger, overall score 81/100):
"The characters seem real, like you're watching them try to decide what
to do next on the fly. Petty Crimes doesn't progress from one pat
scripted moment to the next; the characters take time to flirt, argue,
and waste time together."

STELLAR BODY: BELLYDANCE WITH FIRE (reviewed by Rob Lineberger, overall
score 72/100):
"Neon is famous for performing bellydance routines with a full
candelabra balanced on her head. You're watching her magnificent abdomen
ripple and sway, but at the same time you're thinking 'hey, she is
balancing fire on her head!'"
