Hi there, I'm hoping one of you will be able to offer me some help and
advice...

I have a 21 year old video tape that I want to put on DVD before it
turns to powder! The only problem is, no matter what video recorder I
play it in, there's a nasty bar along the top of the screen, as if the
tracking is out. Is there anything I could do to fix this problem?

The annoying thing is, when I fast forward or rewind the picture is
fine i.e. the bar disappears. It only appears when in normal play mode.
