Browser page creeping down revealing Search page
Posted by caveat lector - reader beware on July 29th, 2004

This just happened awhile ago, and only repeated about twice, but seems to have
gone away - I hope.

Anyway while I was looking at Google, in AOL (the AOL logo was in the upper LH
corner), then I heard a "click" and the Google page began dropping down,
revealing the Search page (maybe Greatsearch.biz).

Whether this was an attack on AOL or MSIE, I don't know, but I just wanted to
pass it on.

Necessity is the Mother of invention.

I'd tell you a secret, but it wouldn't be a secret anymore.

What did you do to fix it? If nothing, expect it to be back!

Hi, not sure if this is the same problem.

There was this toolbar with a search box plus other search buttons. I've
scanned with Ad-Aware and SpyBot but failed to clean it.

Finally try doing a search in the registry and found out this extra key
under:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search - delete the
Search key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search
deletete the custom_something

If you are not sure, maybe you can change the key-name to something else and
remove it when you are sure it's not causing any problem.

You will need to restart your machine.

You may want to take a look here:

Hope this will help..

I didn't do anything, and yes, it is back again.
