- mouse button/scroll wheel displays random images
- Posted by jives11 on October 16th, 2007
Hi,
A friend of mine described a problem he is seeing where touching the
mouse scroll wheel causes random images to be displayed. Some adverts,
some random, some very unwelcome.
I have not seen this myself, but thought I'd ask in case there were
known viruses whch cause images to be displayed on depression of the
scroll wheel

I, for one, think your friend is having you on.
Or has acquired some quality peyote.

Btw, there IS one possible explanation, if your friend is a total newbie
who doesn't know one program from another. Some image editors, like
Irfanview for example, if you open an image, lets you scroll though that
entire folder of images by using scroll wheel.

Maybe it's just coincidental? Maybe he really does have some kind of malware
that serves up images, or he's getting hit at the IP level using Windows
Message Server ... it just happens to occur around the time when he scrolls.
