parasite?

az-willie asked the following, because he wasn't listening at his cub
scout meeting.

....
....
okay: Parasite "formerly, one who habitually ate at the table of
another, repaying him with flattery; a hanger-on; a toady; a plant or
animal that lives at the expense of another, called its host."

....
In the case of computers the generally accepted understanding is a
program that requires a host victim computer inorder to execute its
functionality and propogate/self-replicate <survive> (AOL type users
computer is the best substrate, because generally speaking AOLers have
a below average intelligence and are easy prey... Think "Oh an
executable attachment from a secret admirer" *CLICK CLICK*).

....
The parasite once 'alive' on the host computer may actively (or
passively) begin a life-cycle of self-replication (make one or more
copies of itself) and look forward to propgating itself (or its
facsimile copy) via some transport vector onto the next host (victim).

....
To further reinforce this parasitic idea, think of a guy (usually a
retard) that would copy (cut&paste) other peoples work <cross out the
original authors name, insert his own> then pretend to others that
this is his work. And repeat this behaviour over and over again
(self-replication) until an anti-virus solution comes along to kicks
him in the ass without mercy until he desists.

....
Hope that explanation helps with your homework.
