Didn't help. All it does is actually open the file in another window as if
I had opened it in wordpad or something to edit it, with those pleasant
little squares and funky characters. A right click doesn't give me a save
option, either.
I DO actually like Mozilla tho - the downloads are faster and the pages load
much faster than with IE. I was concerned I couldn't do my online banking
but I've gone to my most common pages and they all work, so thanks.

I'd never heard of the file extensions you mentioned but I did find
references to them after Googling "Sims". Couldn't find any to
download though. Where are there downloads of these files in raw form
(not zipped) ? And do you use a Mac?

Don't blame you a bit! If you send me an email I can reply to privately,
I'll send you my login info so you can check it out, if you're willing. My
sims files are very important to me. <---- read: I have no life. lol

Don't mean to be rude and I do give my email addy out (it's artnpeg at
epix dot net) but I think you'd be better off following up on this
problem through the Mozilla bug feedback where some Moz experts might
be able to help you out. I was just curious about it since I haven't
yet seen a download problem using Mozilla. But most downloads are
zipped (.ZIP) or sfx (a .EXE file extension).
Old Netscape versions were a pain in this regard. You would have to
keep the Shift key depressed while clicking the download.

How about right clicking on the link/download and selecting "Save Link
Target As"...? Works okay here.
