Jonnyrebs are still fighting our Civil War. Some of them do seem to be
jonnyrebs, rednecks and hillbillys all rolled into one. OTOH, rednecks
are noted for being blindly patriotic. Hillbillys are patriotic until
the "revenooers" come and close down their illegal corn whiskey
stills. And to further confuse things, there are the
"antigovernmentists". They are all over the states, actually, but the
extremists are in Montana. They all vote Republican, of course, if
they vote. Rugged individualists, you know. They all hate "gumment" in
all forms.

Actually, I have some kind of roots in Canada. One of my paternal
ancestors was a large land owner up there who supposedly ran off with
a Irish nun from some convent. His last name was Cabranak. I believe
that's French.
