This is the false Microsoft message with a SWEN worm attachment being
posted to many newsgroups. Disregard the message and DO NOT OPEN THE
ATTACHMENT. It is NOT a patch or an update - it is the SWEN worm!!!

You should keep your Windows machines patched - but know how to do it.
Microsoft *never* emails patches. There are several options available in
order to keep your machine up-to-date. If you are a home user, your best
bet is to visit http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com. If you are running
Windows XP, you can configure Windows to automatically check for patches and
either alert you when there are new patches to download, automatically
download the patches and alert you when they're ready to install, or
automatically download & install patches.

If you have downloaded the 'patch' from any one of these posts or emails,
you have the SWEN worm. Make sure your Anti-Virus software is running &
up-to-date. If you do not have up-to-date A/V software, go to
http://housecall.trendmicro.com and scan your machine.
