I have been given an old XP computer from work and am trying to install a
new virus program (Norton Anti Virus) as provided by BT. The only issue is
that is picking up Sophos SweepNT, there is no uninstall option in add or
remove programs the program files have been removed by Dos and all the
registry files as far as possible were removed relating to Sophos. Any ideas
on removing the last trace in order to install the Norton software?

If the Sophos SweepNT files are gone, then there will be no conflict with
NAV. Ignore the recommendation from NAV to remove Sophos SweepNT and go
ahead and install Norton AntiVirus anyway.
