- risky files when opening a folder
- Posted by Uzi on May 4th, 2004
Let's speak about Windows XP. I donwload many files to some folder. Names might differ. Some of them might be virusesI Now wish
that it would be safe to open the folder itself (I'm not speaking about opening the files within the folder).
Now, files like folder.hta or desktop.ini might be executed at opening the folder? Or perhaps it depends on the way Windows is
configured. I need this subject to be clarified further. On Win98 when Webview was disabled, it seemed to be safe to open such a
folder without any code on that folder to run automatically upon opening the folder.
What's the situation regarding this when using XP?
Thanks,
Uzi
