Hello,
I've been using a number of CE (Central European) fonts
moved after upgrade from Windows 98 to my current Windows
2000 install. They worked ok - from SP2 to SP3. But after
installation of SP4 some system part handling these fonts
have changed so they are now unusable. It seems like some
problem with character mapping.
E.g - when I type letter "r" I will get ",". It's not
messed in general, just some of the chars. In wordpad I had
chance to select "Central european" script, now in SP4 its
gone. I can only choose western script.
With one of my colleague I found the same thing happened on
XP. On clear XP install with SP1, these fonts are yet ok,
but after he installed some hotfixes (do not know after
which), same thing happend there.
Summary:
Fontnames: *CE (central european)
Windows 98, Windows 2000 till SP3, Windows XP SP1 till yet
unknown hotfix - all these were ok. More up to date
versions have problems. (Font names as displayed in Win
apps are messed as well.) This behiavior is reproducable in
all apps I have installed, so I believe it's system level
problem.
Thank you very much in advance for any answer,
Daniel
