- Computer accounts in Windows 2000 Domain
- Posted by John DiCillo on August 20th, 2003
I am currently running a Windows 2000 Domain in a
classroom environment. I have configured one member
server computer in this domain. After running for a few
days, I re-ghost the member server computer to return it
to its original state. I can do this w/o any problems a
couple of times, but after what I believe is about a 2-
week period, the ghost process completes and I cannot log
on to the domain.
The error I receive indicates that the computer account is
either missing or corrupted.
Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?
Thanks in advance.

I will guess that the internal machine account password is invalid
after some time has passed. You could try deleting and recreateing
the computer account at the DC. This is nothing too solid, just
recollections (possibly fuzzy). YMMV
Or wait for a better answer. :-)
