Examine all your startup tasks with the tools from
these links, then turn them off selectively until you
find the culprit:
AutoRuns from http://www.sysinternals.com
StartupCPL: http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml

I downloaded startup and everything is normal, nothing out
of the ordinary. I am still getting this error. The msg is:
cannot find the file 'copy' (or one of its components).
Make sure the path and file name are correct and that all
required libraries are available.
Thanks again

One of your startup tasks is trying to execute something like
"copy.exe" or "c:\winnt\system32\copy". There is no such
command file - copy is an internal command to the Command
Processor.

Very true pegasus, but this was the error msg I was
getting, and I believe that I have found the problem: at
the site you indicated: StartupCPL:
http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml mr. Lin (19 year old
MIT)(COOL) has another pgm called startupmonitor and it
stoped a pgm that was trying to execute a copy cmd, come
to find out it was the WINSHOW an add virus. I looked this
up at Symantec and they indicated to download the latest
definitions and run a scan (I call it a SCAM) needles to
say it did not pick up on the virus and I had to manually
delete it from the registry. I hope this solves my issue.
Once again Pegasus I appreciate all of your efforts and if
it was not for you pointing me in the correct path, I
probably would still be scraching my head.
PS: Symantec sucks... LOL
Thanks again
