HELP

I copied a folder on cd drive to copy to a disc with
Adaptec DirectCD and it showed copying and then complete.
Went to check that it copied all files and it did not,
went back to cd drive folder and it disappeared.

How can I retrieve the original? It is does come up when I
do a serch for the folder name...I know it is on the
hardrive somewhere I guess I need to be a programmer now
and have no clue.

Any suggestions before I head off to pay someone to help
dig it off the hard drive.
