- CPU and memory Allocation to the OS

Team,
If we have a 4 CPU/4 GB config system and would like
to conduct a Benchmark of an application with 2 CPU/2 GB
first,then 3CPU/3 GB and 4 CPU/4 GB.Can we do so by
editing some file or changing parameters without having
to unplug the Processors/memory modules physically.
Pls confirm if there is a workaround to acheive the same.

I know it's possible to dedicate an application to the
number of processor you want with Windows 2000/2003
Datacenter, but i don't know if there is a third party
software can do this.
