CPU usage at 100%
Posted by Eric on February 21st, 2004

Hi,

Whenever I'm on the net, whether downloading a file or
browsing, after a few minutes the CPU usage goes up to
100% and subsequently the machine hangs and all activities
ceases. What is the cause? I'm using ADSL, does it have
anything to do with that? I have 256 MB of ram, and when
I'm on the net I shut down as many background processes as
possible. Anyone has any ideas?

Please let me know at ericd_@hotmail.com

Thanks in advance.
Eric

Search for the keyword Ad-aware on www.google.com and install it.

Comrade,

Also run SpyBot. I've found I need to run both Adaware and SpyBot to remove
all parasites. Afterwards, run SpyWareBlaster to prevent reinfestation.
SpyWareBlaster is run only once. It sets a number of entries in your
registry.

All programs are free. Remember to download the updated definition files
for all the programs.
