Data now missing on hard drive

Our disk had bad blocks -- ran w2k defrag - now I can't get any data off the disk. It appears in disk mgr. as a basic disk unallocated. It does have our data on it -- any suggestions on how to get it back?

There are several of ways if doing this.

- The easy way: get your back from your backup medium. This is where
everyone saves his irreplaceable data after he's been bitten.

- The hard way: Install the bad disk as a slave disk in some other Win2000
PC, then download, install & run some of the recovery tools from the sites
below.

- The expensive way: Give your disk to a data recovery bureau. They are
expensive but they can work miracles.
