- defrag is showing no free space
- Posted by on February 12th, 2004
To correctly show the free space on a hard drive while
doing a defrag yo have to go to a DOS prompt and type the
following line:
cipher /Wc:
where /W is the switch and c: is the drive letter.
I have seen this work on W2k SP2 and SP4 - not 100% on the
SP2. I had some SP2 machines where this worked and others
didn't.
that 15% is required. At one time a person showed me a
DOS command that I can run that will correct show the free
space on a hard disk. Does anyone know what that DOS
command is?
