- Dell Inspiron W2K Pro Upgrade

I just tried upgrading a Dell 4000 Inspiron Laptop from Win 98 SE to Win 2K
Pro. In after entering the install key it went to check the compatability
of hardware and software. Before this was completed an error window came up
that said "Program terminated due to illegal function". I already upgraded
the BIOS so that shouldn't be a problem. Short of wiping out the harddrive
and installing Win 2K clean, does anyone have any suggestions?

Make sure NOTHING is running in the background.
