Does anyone experience similar situation? I took responsibility of corp LAN few weeks ago, here is some info: we have 3DC all win 2000, domain is still in mix-mode but since we do not have any more NT4 domain controllers I do not see an issue here switching it to native mode, but I noticed that my pre-windows 2000 domain name is completely different that AD domain name???
In e.g. domain name is abcd.com where pre-windows 2000 domain is XYZ, in when I look at DHCP leases I’m finding names like pcname.abcd.com which is perfectly fine, but for example when you logon to domain in drop-down box for domain you see XYZ… when adding new pc to domain I can use both when asked to specify domain… I can use either abcd.com or XYZ as domain and then xyz\username or username@abcd.co

Any idea what’s going on? If I switch to native mode will this get ride of XYZ name when logon to domain and replace it with ABCD
