Error messages: "Winsck," "Status," and "Unable to open dialog"
Posted by Jon on November 9th, 2003

Three pop-up error messages appear when booting up my computer. They each have the Windows symbol in the upper left corner. One message says "winsck," one says "Status," and one says "Unable to open dialog." I can simply close these pop-ups by clicking on the "x" in the upper right-hand corner and continue to use the computer without any problems. However, I would like to permanently eliminate the messages.

The pop-ups only occur during startup, and there are no other signs that anything is wrong with my computer. The messages started happening a few weeks ago when I installed Norton Anti-Virus after being infected with the Blaster worm. I also had a Trojan on my computer, which has since been deleted. Any ideas on how to permanently eliminate these pop-up error messages?

Thank you.
