- Help generating errors
- Posted by Pat on September 26th, 2003
I apolgize up front if this isn't the correct way to do
this, since it is my first posting for help.
When clicking windows 2000 OS help and choose index I
receive a hh.exe error and you say ok and it closes the
help window. Same thing happens in MSOffice 2000 when you
type in your help question and choose an answer link, I
receive a msohelp error. When in event viewer and choose
help and the index I receive a mmc error. I have updated
office and windows with all patches\updates. I have
renamed msohelp to msohelp old and did a repair. I
uninstalled and downloaded the eraser program to get rid
of all files. Reinstalled and same errors occur. I have
scanned for viruses. Any information or suggestion would
be So appreciated. Pat

Try reregistering the help ocx like so:
Start----run----CMD----[Enter]
Then enter this:
regsvr32 /u hhctrl.ocx
Click ok and then enter this:
regsvr32 hhctrl.ocx
