- Help for schedualed taskes service error?

I'm working on win 2k Pro, but scheduled tasks services does not work at
all.
Here is error massage pop-up
Could not start Task Scheduler service on Local Computer
Error 1053: the service did not respond to the start and control request in
a timely fashion.
Any help is appreciated!
