I recently had to reinstall Windows 200 Professional on a
Toshiba laptop. That went on fine, but now when I try to
open MS Word or Excel, I keep getting the same error
message: "Another installation is already in process.
Complete that installation before proceeding with this
installation". Checked MSKB and the only reference to
this message is when accessing Office 2000 apps after
upgrading from 98 to 2000 and the resolution was to
uninstall Office 2000. This laptop I got from work and
did not come with any CDs or disk. I do have Office XP
Pro on cd and was wondering the following:

1) do I need to remove Office 2K and
2) can Office XP pro work on Windows 2000 Pro?
