- Local Profile Not Loading
- Posted by Jeff on November 24th, 2003
User logs into domain successfully (no errors) and Windows
says "Loading Personnal Settings". However all he gets is
a blank screen. We are NOT using Roaming prifiles just
local.
Have tried the following:
1. Logged in as local admin and deleted local profile.
2. I can log onto this computer as another user on the
domain, and can also log in sucessfully on another
computer. So problem seems to be only his profile on this
computer.
3. Went into the Registry and tried removing any
references to the old profile name that I had deleted.
Tried to make sure Profile was truly delted as far as the
Registry was concerned.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Log on as administrator, then rename the problem profile
folder. It's in c:\documents and settings. When you log on
under the usual account, a new profile will be created.
