- Logon Process takes very long

Hi,
I have a w2k server with win98, w2k, and xp clients. The
98 clients authenticate to the w2k network very quickly
under a minute, whereas the w2k and xp sometime takes more
then 15 mins. All the profiles are default and the logon
delay occurs even while logging on as administrator. Can
anyone help???

I had the same problem, here is what I did to fix it. Make
sure on your W2K server, that in your DNS you type in the
IP address of that server. Then right click on properties
and on enable forwarders, and here type in the DNS entires
of your provider. I am going from memory here, so my menu
instructions may not be perfect, but it should be clear
when you open up your DNS menu's
I did not do this, and what was happening, is the
workstation were going out on the internet to get their
info and this was taking a long time. Hope this helps
