- Long File Names - Explorer Crashes - JPG Files
- Posted by Kevin Hilton on February 12th, 2004
Ive read a few forums regarding the crashing of win2k explorer when
using really long file names, particularly those with the .jpg
extension. I found that when I reassigned the default file handler
from photoshop to ms-paint (didnt try any other programs) the crashing
of the windows explorer suddenly stopped. Im not sure what Adobe
photoshop does to make explorer crash, however I suggest to the many
of you out there to try this and see if this helps. Ive read a lot of
posts suggesting a full complete OS reinstall, however if this can
save a reinstall I would try it.
