Everything seems to be running fine on my computer, yet
every time I start up, two new events occur:
(1) I get a little error box in the center of the screen
which simply says 'Installation Failed' and an 'OK' to
click.
(2) The task manager window opens.
I am really at a loss trying to determine what is causing
this. Any ideas?

You'll probably want to run a full virus and spyware scan.
