- Lost documents
- Posted by ydna on August 26th, 2003
I was having problems connecting to the internet via a
comcast cable modem so I reloaded the ethernet driver. At
some point I seem to have lost a profile or at least the
documents that went along with the profile. I'm not sure
when it happened, I had to reboot a few times.
I can't find the lost documents using the finder even
though I'm logged on as the administrator.
Most of the programs I originally had still show up on the
desktop, however some of them don't work properly.
Any ideas about recovering the lost data?

a) Look in the various folders under c:\Documents and Settings
b) Retrieve them from backup
If you don't have a backup then you might want to consider
this event as prompt to review your backup strategy.
