- Migrating Outlook Express folders to Win2K from Win98
- Posted by Mike D. on August 16th, 2003
I upgraded my machine from Win98 to Win2K, and installed
win2K on a new HD. When I tried to migrate the folders
and email, it migrated only some of the messages, and put
all of the messages for the different users into a single
inbox. It also messed up the contact list. How can I
migrate all of this intact, or can I.
Any and all help would be appreciated.

I recommend you try an Outlook Express newsgroup.

Hi Mike,
Provided you can still run Outlook Express on W98...here is what I would do.
1) Go into W98...run OE....go to TOOLS-OPTIONS-MAINT. Choose STORE foler and
copy it. Open up the address book and export it to a CSV file. Exit OE.
2)Navigate to the store folder and copy it somewhere it is accessible to
W2k.
3) Go into W2k....Open up OE and locate the store folder. Replace the new
store folder with the old one. Import the CSV file in the address book.
Problem solved...
I hope this helps...
