- Missing Windows Explorer Items
- Posted by cswarr on September 4th, 2003
After installing a second processor into a Win2k, SP3
machine, I have found that when I launch Windows Explorer
or go into control panel, I have hit refresh to see the
drives or control panel applets. The e globe in the top
right keeps spinning, but nothing appears in the window.
Other than hitting refresh, I can also simply move the
windows or click on any menu item at the top to get the
missing icons to appear. After installing the processors,
I did update the Processor driver to Muliprocessor. I
have also re-applied the SP in an attempt to resolve the
problem. Nothing has worked. This has happend on two
different machines, both Compaqs, but different models.
Any ideas? Thanks.
