- OT: baud rate; modem speed; nomenclature?

If I want to write the speed of a modem and its maximum speed is 28.8 kbps,
what is the proper way to write it? I've seen it written in all sorts of
ways:
28.8K (no space)
28.8 K (space)
28.8Kbps (no space)
28.8 Kbps (space)
Any I'm missing?
What is the correct way to write this? Please help me.
Thanks,
Mark

Technically, capital "B" is bytes, lowercase "b" is bits. If I remember
correctly, the modem transfer rate (BTW, baud is no longer technically
correct for any modem over 14.4, I think) should be KBps. The only
thing that is typically rated in bits, are network speeds.
A 10/100 Mb network card can run at 10 or 100 Megabits per second, not
Megabytes. SCSI bus speeds are rated at Megabytes.
