System is win2000 pro. When I save a file as a bitmap in
paint, it is ok. When i try to save it as a jpeg or gif I
get this error msg:
"Paint cannot save this fle. Save was interrupted, so your
file has not been saved".
Can anyone help?

Try cleaning out temporary files and folders and then try it again.
