- Reassigning IRQs
- Posted by kelvin8 on January 22nd, 2004
My AGP graphics card and onboard sound chip have been assigned the same IRQ by W2K. The manufacturer of the graphics card says that the card must have its own, unshared IRQ. I have IRQs 2,5,7,10,11,12,17 and 20 available. W2K will not let me reset the IRQ for either the graphics card nor the sound chip. It does not recognize a conflict. What do I do. I've tried everything I can think of, but under Device Manager- Resources, the whatsit box is inactive.

Reserve the IRQ for the video in the BIOS. That should have been part of
the installation instructions.

Do you currently have any problems with video or sound? Also, see this MS
