Removing Windows 2000 Professional
Posted by Jaxsuite on March 4th, 2004

I want to remove Windows 2000 Professional and replace it
with Windows XP Home Edition but I'm not able to reformat
my drive. Is there a way to totally remove Windows 2000
from my system?

Greetings --

Simply boot from the WinXP Installation CD. You'll be offered the
opportunity to delete, create, and format partitions as part of the
installation process. (You may need to re-arrange the order of boot
devices in the PC's BIOS to boot from the CD.)

your computer off of the XP CD, then follow the
instructions. It will prompt you to see if you want to
delete the previous windows install and format the
selected HD. It's that easy!
