- Screen Size Change Requires Reboot?
- Posted by prreed@jacksonreed.com on December 14th, 2003
Hello,
I am running Wind2kPro SP4 on a Dell laptop.
When I right click on my desktop and
select "properties|Settings" and change the screen
size...instead of it changing it for me right on the
screen (as it doesn on my other Win2kpro laptop)...it
tells me I have to reboot to make the change. At reboot
time, it appears like the new setting is taking affect and
then at the last second it snaps back to my old setting.
Any ideas?
Paul

1.) Control Panel|Display|Settings|Advanced|General depending on the adapter
there may be the option to apply without restart.
2.) Check the hardware manufacturer's web site for the latest Windows 2000
driver for your graphics adapter and check that you're not setting it beyond
the capabilities of your monitor.
