When I double click to start a service I get
error 2 - the sysytem cannot find the specified file
and te service does not start.

Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Services.
Check the properties of the bad service. It shows you the path
to the executable. Re-install the service from whatever installed
it in the first place, or restore the file it wants, or disable the service.
