Have tried installing windows 2000 professional on 3
different pcs, all goes well until I use the dial up
connection and recieve the svchost.exe has gernerated
errors message, service packs don;t seem to work either?

if you connected, prior to installing a firewall, its likely yr sys are now
infected with any number of the current viri.
try a search in this ng, or google, for svchost.exe youll get a multitude of
hits.
