- Temporary Internet Files

After deleting temporary files (via IE6.0 tools/internet
options) I notice that I still have multiple entries in my
C:\Docs & Settings\Administrator\local Settings\Temporary
Internet Files\Content.IE5 folder. They are numbers that
have zero bytes, e.g. [1], [2], .....[n]. N can be quite
large depending on how long it has been since I deleted
the files. My questions are;
What causes them?
Can I stop their creation?

This post won't answer either of your questions, but here goes anyway: If
you don't want to deal with those files and you have plenty of extra memory
and you have a fast connection to the Internet, install a RAM disk and point
your explorer (IE->Properties->Settings>Move Folder, or from IE:
Tools->Internet Options->Settings->Move Folder) to the RAM disk. When you
turn your computer off, your temporary internet files will disappear. If
you have a slow connection, this may not be the wisest thing to do.

Those files are created by Outlook Express. It should clean them up, but
doesn't. I don't know of any way to stop therir creation. You can get
rid of them, and any other strange things hanging around in the
Content.IE5 folder, by checking the box labeled "Delete all offline
content" before clicking OK when deleting the temporary files.
