- User permissions
- Posted by Mike Sullivan on August 6th, 2003
I have W2k Pro running on a Dell optiplex G150 at home. I
have set up a users group (for the kids) whose members are
also in the Power users group. These users have trouble
with modem access to the internet and my diagnosis is
difficult as they have no modem sound! Connection
settings are not user specific, as far as I'm aware, and
the Admin user has modem sound enabled and working.
The same??? problem manifests as difficulty running games
(Age of kings specifically) unless the user is a member of
administrators group.
What can I do to users or file/directory perms to get
round this? I don't really want to let the kids loose as
Administrators!!
