- Win2000 Domain and XP client
- Posted by David on October 16th, 2003
Hi,
I have Windows 2000 Domain. I have an XP system which is
not part of the domain. When I tried to map the drive from
XP it is giving and error "The mapped drive could not be
created because the following error has occurred: A device
attached to the system is not funcitioning"
I have tried to map the drive with different user name and
password which is valid in the domain.
Pls let me know the possible reason for this. Thanks for
any help.
Regards
David

Check licensing and pehaps join the domain or enable the
guest account on the server
Check permissions on the directory you want to map
