- Win2000 SP4 & VIA Serial ATA incompatible?
- Posted by Ralf Zoran on February 23rd, 2004
Hello Newsgroup
I have an A7V600-X mainboard and a Seagate 80GB which is the only hdd in the system.
I installed Windows 2000 with the supplied SATA drivers (F6 and all), upgraded to SP4,
installed the usual set of drivers and applications and it worked fine for app. 1 week.
Windows won't boot anymore.
The logo screen says that some files in "\systemroot\system32\config\software" are currupted
and so on.
I performed two complete reinstallations, but the problem persists.
I have read that some people had the same problem, but so far I haven't found a solution beyond
resetting the system files which is no use to me.
Can someone help me on this one?
Thanks a lot.
