- Windows 2000 Automatic Updates Lost On Reboot
- Posted by Power 2 The People on November 4th, 2003
Firstly, *apologies* in advance if this repeats previous postings -
but it doesn't seem to according to my research
I have Windows 2000 on a standard desktop PC with MIE6.0 (if that's
relevant)
When the last Automatic Updates alert icon appeared in the system
tray, I successfully downloaded a number of files . .
*HOWEVER*
.. . before I could install them the computer crashed
Upon reboot there was no sign of the system tray alert icon & I've not
seen it since so I cannot install any of the downloaded update files !
Whether it is still working in terms of coming up whenever any further
new updates are available is anyone's guess !
Any pointers *very much* appreciated
