- Windows 2000 Pro Retail -- comes with a product key?
- Posted by need license help on August 5th, 2003
I bought a license only version of Windows 2000 Pro
Retail. The vendor is telling me that it comes without a
license key. I find that difficult to believe.
Can anyody help? TW, if this post is in the wrong forum,
let me know.

Corporate licences work without a key but I don't think retail
licences do. I suspect that if you tried to re-install Win2000
on an empty disk then you would be challenged for a product
key. Without that key you would be well and truly stuck.
Alternatively you may have a pirated version of Win2000 that
has been emasculated. Watch out!
