I recently installed win2000 pro on a new system, first
fault was when entering the password the computer hangs
occasionally.
Secondly without any warning the computer will switch off
then restart.
Help, I am at my witts end.

Is this box a member of a domain or standalone in workgroup?
When you say installed on new system, I assume a clean new install, or was
it upgraded from something else on a "new" system.
What events are you seeing in the logs that appear to apply to this problem.
