Won't Finish Boot (WIN2K)

Won't Finish Boot (WIN2K): Posted by Jim Russell on March 5th, 2004; Folks,
I have a friend I'm helping with a WIN2K machine. It boots fine till the
desktop wall paper loads and task bar. The taskbar disappears and that is
where it stops. It does the same in Safe Mode. Task Manager works. I tried
"last good profile". No change. Any suggestions? She's about 80 and this is
her only entertainment.
