2003 AD and Domain Admins ???
Posted by GWG on February 3rd, 2004

Ok, I am running a set of 5 2003 servers. AD is running on one and the others have successfully joined the domain. I created a domain admin account on the AD machine. I cannot access this accounts to give it local admin rights or special privledges from the other 2003 servers. (ie. the domain does not show up in the locations field

I was able to add the domain account to the other 2003 servers from the AD's manage computers utility. However, when I go back to the machine it will only show the SID (1-5-21-xxxxxx-xxxx-xxx-xxx) number after a restart and I am still unable to give it any permissions. I have tried this logging in to the other servers with local admins as well as domain admins. And I am able to see all the other machines in the Network places. And I have successfully added the domain admin as a local admin to a 2000 server and it seems to work fine

Any help would be appriciated.
